Dr. Steven . Shayani has been the Medical Director of Long Island Heart Associates since 1994 . He received
his medical degree from State University of New York at Syracuse in 1988, where he was the youngest medical
graduate at the age of 22.


He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Cardiology Fellowship at Winthrop-University
Hospital. While at Winthro p-University Hospital, he received additional training in Nuclear Cardiology under Dr.
Richard Steingart . In addition, Dr. Shayani trained in the Electrophysiology Lab under Professor Mark Josephson
at Beth Israel Hospital / Harvard Medical School in Boston.
 

Dr. Shayani is a Diplomate with the American Board of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is
also Board Certified in Nuclear Cardiology. He was honored the Fellow of American College of Cardiology in
1995. He has been the Chairman and President of the New York Heart Research Foundation since 2002.
 

Dr. Shayani maintains the highest level of expertise in the areas of Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT Imaging.
He is affiliated with some of the most prestigious heart hospitals in New York. His areas of interests include
atherosclerosis, cardiac arrhythmia, hypercholesterolemia, congestive heart failure and myocardial infarction. He
has lectured extensively on these topics and is presently involved in numerous national and international clinical
trials in cardiology.
