Dr. Michael Gurfinkel received his B.S. in Biology from SUNY Stony
Brook and his D.O. from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. He completed his residency at Winthrop University Hospital where he participated in numerous research studies in the area of atrial fibrillation. In 2003, he completed his Fellowship in Cardiology.
Dr. Gurfinkel is recognized by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Cardiovascular Diseases. His professional affiliations include the American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, and the American College of Cardiology. He also speaks fluent Russian.
Dr. Gurfinkel joined Long Island Heart Associates in July 2003 and has been a welcomed addition to our staff. His areas of interest include atrial fibrillation, heart failure and valvular heart disease.
